Mental Health Resources for Parents
The Sioux City Community School District keeps the safety of students at the forefront by preparing our staff to provide a safe learning environment that supports the physical, emotional, behavioral, and mental well-being of each student.
Our positive behavior and mental health programs and services include Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS), CHAMPS, Second Step, Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP), Mental Health Resources, and Professional School Counseling Services.
Our registered school nurses serve a pivotal role that bridges physical health and education so students are safe, healthy, and ready to learn each day.
In addition, our District exercises a host of prevention and planning practices for Anti-Bullying, Harassment, and Hazing, and crisis prevention.
The District’s prevention and support services not only build a sense of community and citizenship but also enhance the learning experience for all students in a healthy and supportive environment.
