The Sioux City Community School District will offer one driver education class at North High School this fall. The class will start on Monday, August 26th, 2024, run for six weeks, and finish on Saturday, October 5th, 2024.
Class times and drive sessions will be assigned after registration is completed. Students will be assigned one driving day session per week in addition to the classroom sessions.
Classroom sessions will be held Monday through Thursday after school from 3:05 to 4:30 pm with driving lessons happening Monday through Saturday to ensure the course is completed in the six-week timeframe.
Registration for the fall driver education class will open on Monday, August 5th, 2024 at 6 pm and close on Friday, August 16th or once all spots are filled.
Spots are filled on a first come first serve basis. The cost for the class is $385 (school fee waivers are accepted for a reduced price of $175 or free if eligible).
To be Eligible:
The student must be 14 years of age.
The student must have a valid Iowa learner’s permit. Spots will not be processed or held for any students who do not have a valid learner’s permit at the time of registration.
A complete deposit for the class fee must be made to North High School to be completely registered. North High School will contact families to process payment and complete the registration process.
Enrollment will be accepted, based on the date and order in which registration forms are received and time stamped, until capacity is met. Students may be placed on a waiting list but are not guaranteed a place in the class.
