Sioux City, Iowa - ArtWorks is making a return this spring from Thursday, May 2 through Sunday, May 5 in the Ho-Chunk Centre, located at 600 4th St. in Sioux City.
ArtWorks, which began over 30 years ago, will feature more than 1,000 pieces of original artwork from students in grades transitional kindergarten through 12th grade representing all Sioux City Community School District schools.
ArtWorks will kick off with a special opening reception and artwalk on May 2.
· Thursday, May 2 from 5 pm to 8 pm - Artwalk locations include:
o 4:30 pm: Sioux City Art Center
o 5 pm: ArtWorks - Ho Chunk, Gallery 103, and Three Rivers Gallery
o 6 pm: Art SUX
o 7 pm: Vangarde Arts
· Friday, May 3 from 5 pm to 8 pm
· Saturday, May 4 from 10 am to 7 pm
· Sunday, May 5 from Noon to 4 pm
The mission of ArtWorks is to create a district-wide display, showcasing and celebrating students’ achievements in art. Those attending ArtWorks receive a firsthand experience of art education in the District, gaining a better understanding of the diverse education students receive in art and art production.
