It was nearly impossible for Captain Meriwether Lewis, an amateur botanist, to transport plants new to western science back east. Instead, he collected what seeds he could (to be grown in). President Thomas Jefferson’s garden) and made pressings of the rest.
In this class, K-6th Grade students will learn the art of pressing plants. The event will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 29 at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center.
