How much do you really know about our first president? Here is an opportunity to learn about “George Washington: The Indispensable Man.” On Sunday, April 16 at 2:00 PM come to the Betty Strong Encounter Center to hear Don Hickey, retired professor of history from Wayne State College, deliver an illustrated lecture on the nation’s first president. Admission is free, with reception to follow.

Called the “indispensable man,” George Washington played a central role in securing the nation’s independence from Britain and in launching a new nation that many Europeans thought would never survive.

The Center comprises a private, non-profit cultural complex built and sustained by Missouri River Historical Development, Inc. (MRHD).
