The Finance Department of the Sioux City Community School District coordinates the budget and funded projects of the school district. The per-pupil state funding for Iowa schools districts is $5,333. Each school, within the district is allocated monies based on class sizes.
Each year, the Chief Financial Officer, William Stoneburg, presents a budget and financial reports for approval to the Board of Directors. Mr. Stoneburg monitors all day-to-day receipts and disbursements and ensures adequate availability of cash to meet monthly disbursements.
