Parents and guardians of students in the Sioux City Community School District are asked to give their input about their child’s education in a School Climate and Communication Survey.
“The schools are partners with parents and guardians. We felt it was crucial to seek their guidance and feedback in how we are doing,” said Alison Benson, communications coordinator for the district.
Questions include school climate, teacher quality, special programs, overall effectiveness, as well as communication questions. “Increased parental involvement is key to student achievement, which is our number one goal, so we are also asking parents about how the schools can provide additional support.,” said Benson.
Surveys are being home in each schools’ October newsletter, and are also available on line at www.siouxcityschools.org. Parents and guardians are asked to fill out a survey for each school that their child attends.
The survey is being conducted from October 1 through November 15. Results of the survey will be shared in January.
